Exchange with overseas cities

Itabashi City conducts exchange with various countries throughout the world, and promotes international exchange at the citizenry level.

Burlington became the sister city of Itabashi in May of 1989. It is an exceptionally orderly and safe city, located near Toronto and Niagara Falls, with a population of about 5 and one area of 188 square kilometers. In addition to 11 large botanical gardens, the city also boasts beautiful parks and various types of recreation facilities.
The Burlington Mundialization Committee (a municipal volunteer organization) is the city’s liaison for the conducting of exchange at the citizenry level.

The Itabashi Subcommittee of the City of Burlington's Globalization Commission has received the XNUMX Foreign Minister's Commendation for its contribution to promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Canada.The Foreign Minister's Commendation honors individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to the promotion of friendly relations between Japan and other countries, and who have made particularly remarkable achievements.
The Globalization Committee is an organization made up of volunteer citizens who are in charge of promoting exchanges between Burlington and cities overseas. .

Shijingshan District is located in the western part of the city of Beijing. It has a population of about 21 and an area of 11 square kilometers.
