About homestay and home visit

The homestay and home visit business aims to promote international exchange at the ward residents level by connecting foreigners who want to deepen their understanding of Japan by experiencing daily life in Japan with Japanese families who accept them. going.

1. Application for Homestay/Home Visit

Only applications from groups (schools, companies, etc.) will be accepted.We do not accept applications from individuals.

(1) Application method

Please make an inquiry by phone in advance and submit the following documents to the foundation.

  • request letter
  • Overview of homestay: Please describe in detail the period, schedule during your stay, visitor information, the role of the host family, rewards, etc.

(2) Responsibilities of the client

  • The Foundation will only notify the registered host families of the recruitment.After the application from the host family, the requester and the host family should directly contact and coordinate.
  • Visitors should take out insurance to cover illness, accidents and troubles during the homestay period.In addition, if any trouble occurs, the requester will promptly respond and take full responsibility for its handling.
  • Homestay fees are the responsibility of the applicant.

2. Host family registration

We are always looking for families to accept homestays (including accommodation) or home visits (without accommodation) for foreigners who want to experience life in a Japanese family.

(1) Registration conditions

  • Resident of Itabashi Ward (excluding single-person households)
  • All family members living together must agree to the acceptance.
  • Greet visitors warmly without discrimination on race, nationality, region, culture, etc.
    *Foreign language proficiency is not required, but visitors may not be able to speak Japanese.

(2) Activities

We ask for your cooperation in accepting homestays (with accommodation) and home visits (without accommodation).
For each request, we will send you information via your registered email address, mail, or fax.

Flow until acceptance

  1. The foundation will be in charge of everything from recruitment to the operation of the day.At the preliminary briefing session, we will explain how to meet and receive visitors and how to hand them over, and the staff will be present on the day.

  2. When requested by an external organization (company, school, etc.)
    Based on the request from the organization, etc., the foundation will inform you of the recruitment.After submitting the application, you will be contacted directly with the requester.

(3) Requests to host families

  • We provide home-cooked meals.Discuss the meal rules at home, such as the meal style (breakfast is self-service, etc.), the time of day, and by what time if dinner is not required.Also, some visitors have food restrictions due to religion or allergies.Let's understand it in advance.
  • Don't treat visitors as customers, and tell them to clean their rooms and clean up after meals.In addition, it is necessary to check the basic rules such as how to wash clothes, how long to use the shower, curfew, etc.
  • In the case of homestay, a room for the visitor will be provided.It doesn't matter if it's a Japanese-style room or a Western-style room.
  • Visitors are interested in experiencing the everyday life of Japanese people.Don't do anything special, just introduce your life as you normally would.
